King Arthur's Court
Founded in 1967 by Mike Homick, manager of the King's Ransom. Mike took a building which had prefiously been used for running model trains and turned it into a happening 60's nite club for high school and college students between the ages of 16 and 21. Located one mile north of Quakertown, the court operated from 1967-1971 until the teen scene shifted to New Jersey prompted by the lower drinking age across the Deleware. Shrouded by thick green woods, King Arthur's Court frequently had two bands playing on the same night, one of which was usually the King's Ransom. Like the Mad Hatter and Mod Mill, the court had many national bands with hit records play there. Now an auto parts store, the building still looks very much as it did nearly 40 years ago, minus the sign of course.
