The Mod Mill
The Mod Mill opened the same week in May of 1967 that King Arthur's Court began operating. You had to be 17 to attend Jerry Deane's establishment which he billed as a supper club for young adults. Deane, a well known Lehigh Valley DJ, seemed to want to present the Mill as a little more upscale than the other teen discotheques in the area. The Mod Mill lasted only a couple years until it was forced to close by the state because of plans for highway expansion to route 309.
