The Red Rooster
The Red Rooster, in Alpha, NJ, was the most popular club in the 1970s for Lehigh Valley high school and college students. It held about 200 people at one time and, unlike the teen clubs of the 60s, served alcohol. The building's dimensions were very similar to King Arthur's Court, however there was only one stage with one band playing on any given night. Business continued to be strong until the state reinstated 21 as the legal drinking age and not long after, the party for clubs like the Red Rooster was over. But in its heydey it was so crowded on weekends that people had to wait outside for others to leave the club in order to get in.
